Globa set of rules

The rules listed here are mandatory for all participants in the Matcharena. Every one who registers on the Matcharena explained the fact that he has read and understood these rules. He also complies to the best of knowledge and belief.

The set of rules on the Matcharena will be kept complete and current every time. Please also stay informed by your own on the Infor & Details and in the game-specific set of rules of the leagues, ladders and tournaments and on the news to be informed about changes and exceptions.

Should you have any questions or suggestions to the set of rules you can use our support system and create a support ticket.

1. Allgemeines

In the Matcharena is the Central European Time zone (CET) valid. The winter time is by the most designated the standard time. The summer time is set to +1 hours. Time changes will be announced on time.


In each game, which is offered in the Matcharena, must be played in the latest game version (patch/update). Each participant has to play with an original version of the game. Players who use proven piracy or other illegal verions will be excluded from the game operation.


Changes on the set of rules will be announced in news or in the forum. Suggestions for changes on the rules can be given to us on the support way.

The League Management reserves for the right to change the rules or parts on it at a short notice.


The right of broadcasts, such as IRC bots, HLTVs, Source TVs, GoTVs, streams or other not further possibilities to broadcast belong to the Matcharena.

If a match will be played on others servers there must be provided free slots for broadcasting the match.
The rights to broadcast matches can be given to third persons by the league management or the participants in the match, unless this has been agreed with the league management before the match.


The benefit of comment and communication facilities of the Matcharena for the dissemination of advertising is stricly prohibited and will be punished depending on the offense with penalties up to a temporary or permanent account ban.

If you encounter a problem within the Matcharena you have to fill out a detailed support ticket. On this support ticket should be given to us evidences like screenshots, logs or demos to avoid long processing times.

In addition to the evidence, the following data should also be accompanied in the support ticket:

  • Match ID, if it´s in a match
  • Profil ID, if it´s in a profile
  • Team/Clan ID, if it´s in a team
  • Ticket ID, if it´s in a clan

If these data will be absenced the support ticket can be closed with the reagard to rebuild it correct.

t is important to ensure that the support is always created in the designated game area. On tickets that were created in the wrong area can not be obtained in the case of a complaint. In addition a longer processing time can be caused.

The general protest times are limited to:
  • In tournaments on 15 minutes after the end of match
  • In ladders and leagues on 72 hours after the end of match
Exceptions are protest demos, their times can be found in the game-specific set of rules.

For all other problems there are no fixe protest times required.
Protests to matches are only valid if they are created by an concerned participant in the match. It is important to ensure that only one protest will be created for each match. Exceptions are due to protest fakematches, which will be also allowed to be created by outside members.

General there is no right for a protest when both teams have committed similiar offenses of a match. Whether the respective offenses are considered to be similiar, that decision is by the relevant admins.


In individual cases the admins will be eligible to make decisions which are not covered one to one from the set of rules. This serves to preserve the sportsmanship and to satisfied all participants.

Unless otherwise specified in the game-specific set of rules will be considered the official means of communication for the Matcharena to:

  • Supportticket
  • E-Mail
In statements on other platforms can´t be ordered in the event of a complaint.


2. Behavior and manners

All participants have to be respectful to each other. Basically you should treat your opponent as you will be treated by yourself. This appllies to the matches as well as for writing in guest books, forums or other communication options of the Matcharena.

All participants are also committed to represent the eSport, the Matcharena and their sponsors worthily and to convey to the public a good impression.

Offenses accordance with the rules draw depending on the severity of the case can have different consequences. About penalties and locks decide the administrators of the Matcharena. In addition the responsible admin has the ability to decide that the match has to be repeated in case that the match has been affected.


Insults of any kind are prohibited. This appllies to the matches as well as for writing in guest books, forums or other communication options of the Matcharena.

Slight insults will be penalized with a penalty of one point. In severe insults a punishment with three penalty point is calculated.Has the insult a racist background be assigned six penalty points and a 10-day lock.

The league management reserves particularly serious insults to punish with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.


The permanent sharing of contributions that do not belong on the subject is to refrain. This includes harassment, sensless and useless posts. This appllies to the matches as well as for writing in guest books, forums or other communication options of the Matcharena.

Slight insults will be penalized with a penalty of one point. In severe insults a punishment with three penalty point is calculated.

The league management reserves particularly serious spamming to punish with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.


Regular league operations can’t be provided without sportsmanlike conduct.
Slight violations will result in one penalty point, heavy violations will result in 3 penalty points.

The league management reserves the right to punish very high violations of this rule with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.


The content of all private messages and support tickets is confidental, sharing or publishing is forbidden. A violation against this rule will result in 1 penalty point for the first time any other times will result in 3 penalty points.

The league management reserves to punish heavy violations against the secret of letters with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.


Threats in any form are forbidden this includes the league operation, the guestbooks, the forums and any other form of communication you use in relation with the Matcharena. Violations will be punished with six penalty points and a 10 day ban.

The league management reserves the right to punish very high violations of this rule with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.


Any try to deceit a admin or other players with wrong or made up informations is forbidden and will be punished. If a team or a player attempt to deceit a admin with wrong or made up informations it will be punished with three penalty points.

Sharing banned links on any communication plattform Matcharena has is forbidden. Violations on this rule will result in three penalty points. The league management reserves the right to punish very high violations of this rule with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.


All kind of gamechanging and unfair actions is forbidden, this includes bugusing. Exploiting bugs on the Matcharena website will result in six penalty points and a 10 day ban.

In a match you have to check if there are any loading related bugs before the match starts and if there are bugs u have to try to revolve them by reloading the map. When both sides agree to play with bugs we can’t tolerate protests based on the bug. You can find an index with listed bugs for each game in the game related rule book for the game.

Any bugusing in a match will result in three penalty points for the bug user.
3. Accounts



Every user is allowed to create an Matcharena account to compete in our competitions or to take part in our community. The user account itself is property of the person who created it. No other user can claim to own the account.

Every user is allowed to create one account. If a user creates more than one account so called multi accounts will be deleted without warning and the main account of that user will be punished with six penalty points and a 6 day ban.

The league management reserves the right to punish very high violations of this rule with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.


The user himself is in charge to protect his account. We recommend to use safe passwords with a combination of letters, numbers and symbols. You should never share your login data with any person.

The owner of a account is liable for anything that happens with his account. Any bans or penalty points due to account hacking wont be removed if you didn’t protected your account properly.

The creation of a second-/multiaccount is even forbidden if the user doesn’t has access on his main account.

If you cant login into your account you have to send a email to support@matcharena.de. The mail must contain the following things:

  • ID card front and back
  • Account name and email adress
  • Picture of yourself holding the ID card
  • If needed new email adress

Every user can choose their nickname as he wish. If a user chosen a nickname that violated our terms of use we will rename him and punish him arcording to the circumstances with three penalty points which can lead to temporary ban or an account deletion.

The league management reserves the right to rename players if they chosen a protected trademark or a name full of unreadable symbold and letters.

We also change nicknames if somebody used a nickname of a well known player that now cant use his name.
Nicknames in the Matcharena are unique that means a nickname can just be used by one person. When u can proof that your favored nickname is used by an inactive account u can request a nickchange per email to support@matcharena.de

Every user can change his nickname once per month himself.


Every user can choose his avatar by himself, please make sure your avatar doesnt violate our terms of use. If a avatar violates our terms of use we will delte it and punish the user arcording to circumstances with three penalty points which can lead to temporary ban or an account deletion.

The league management reserves the right to delete a avatar if is protected by a trademark.


Every user can request the verification but its only allowed to have one fully verified account. For competions there are different verification level requirents that u need to fulfill to compete in it.

The exact verification requirements can be read on the page of competition.

If you have questions for an ongoing verification process please use our ticket system or write a mail to support@matcharena.de. We only take ID’s and other official paper per email. You can find more informations about the verification system “here”.

User which want to compete in our competitions need to have a valid email adress entered in their profil.


Any user that doesn’t want to use his account anymore can delete it by requesting an account deletion per support ticket. If the account has been verified pre deletion the user cant create a new account if he wants to compete in Matcharena again.

Verified accounts has to be recreated by the Matcharena support you can request that per email to support@matcharena.de. We need the same informations as in point 3.1.3. .

If a account gets deleted due penalty points the points will be moved to the new account aswell and we can punish that with a temporary ban or permanend account deletion.


Every user is allowed to create an Matcharena team to compete in our competitions or to take part in our community.


The creator of a team account is also his owner. If the owner leaves the team, he loses his owner status, one of the remaining players can request the ownership at our support.

When the last owner rejoins the team he doesn’t have any rights to reclaim the ownership. This rule is only active if she doesn’t collide with any rule in the game related rule book.

In special cases the league management reserves the right to change the ownership of any team by their opinion.


Every user can choose the name for his team as he wish. If a user chosen a team name that violated our terms of use we will rename his team and punish the owner arcording to the circumstances with three penalty points which can lead to temporary ban or an account deletion.

The league management reserves the right to rename teams if they chosen a protected trademark or a name full of unreadable symbold and letters. We also change team names if somebody used a name of a well known team that now cant use their name.

Team names in the Matcharena are unique that means a team name can just be used by one team. When u can proof that your favored team name is used by an inactive team account u can request a team name change per email to support@matcharena.de

Every user can change the name of his team once per month himself.


Every user can choose the logo for his team by himself, please make sure your logo doesn’t violate our terms of use.

If a logo violates our terms of use we will delte it and punish the team owner arcording to the circumstances with three penalty points which can lead to temporary ban or an account deletion.

The league management reserves the right to delete a avatar if is protected by a trademark.

In a team account a user can have the following ranks:

  • Leader
  • Orga
  • Trainer
  • Player
  • Inactiv
Inactive team members are not eligible to compete in any competition. Team members with the rank leader can change the ranks of other team members by themself. If that isn’t possible please contact our support per ticket to fix the issue.

When no team member has the rank of a leader and the team also got no team owner you can contact the support as mentioned in 3.2.2. to request leader rights. If the team owner is still member of the team he gets leader rights.

Any team can have as much member as they want.

The overall verification status of a team will be determinated by the lowest availabe verification level of an active team member. Inactive team members don’t affect your teams verification status.

Team accounts need to fulfill specific requirements for some competitions. The requirements can be things like:

  • entered gameaccount
  • contact data
  • a minimum player count
  • a entered team logo
Clans are allowed to have more than one team in leagues but only one per league. The exact requirements a team has to fulfill to enter a competition can be read in the rule book for the competition.


Any player can join and leave a at any point in time. Competition bans in relation to joining or leaving a team will be determinated by the competition related rule book. In general we run with this regulation.

In tournaments are players only eligible to compete in it when they join the team before the tournament starts. In ladders a player can only compete in a match when he joins the team before match start, this doesn’t count for shifted matches.

When the match is shifted the origin match start count. The league management reserves the right to extent, change or edit a competition ban at any point in time or to remove this rule completly.


Any teamowner can choose to delete his team account by himself in account management, if it isn’t in any active competition.

When there are no owner or leaders in a team account a team member can request the deletion per support. Team accounts can only be restored by contacting the support. The creator of the support will be put in as team owner even if someone else created the team account in the first place.

If a team account gets deleted due penalty points or bans, the new team will get the same ammount of penalty points and bans. In addition we will punish such actions with additional penalty points which can lead to a temporary ban.


Teams can choose to merge to start the merging prozess the teams must choose which account will be used as main account and open a support ticket.

Match data can only be used if both teams aren’t in the same competition. If this happens the teams have to choose one team from which the match data will be used. The not used matchdata will be deleted and the not used team accounts will be deactivated.

Match data can only be used if both teams aren’t in the same competition. If this happens the teams have to choose one team from which the match data will be used. The not used matchdata will be deleted and the not used team accounts will be deactivated.

The league management reserves the right to rename clans if they chosen a protected trademark or a name full of unreadable symbols and letters. We also change clan names if somebody used a name of a well known clan that now cant use their name.

Clan names in the Matcharena are unique that means a clan name can just be used by one clan.
When u can proof that your favored team name is used by an inactive team account u can request a team name change per email to support@matcharena.de

Any clan can have as much member as they want



Every clan owner can delete his clan if it hasn’t any team in it. He can do that by hymself in the account management. When there are no owner or leaders in a clan account a clan member can request the deletion per support.

Clan accounts can only be restored by contacting the support. The creator of the support will be put in as clan owner even if someone else created the clan account in the first place.


A team can join a clan but remember the team owner won’t change when the team is part of a clan.

Please keep in mind that when a team is part of a clan some archivements like awards, prize money, and tournament slots which got won by the team will be counted as archievements for the clan and wont be transfered to the team when it leaves the clan.

A team can only be in one clan. Team owners can leave or join a clan in the team management settings.

Match data can only be used if both teams aren’t in the same competition. If this happens the teams have to choose one team from which the match data will be used. The not used matchdata will be deleted and the not used team accounts will be deactivated.



Any player can only have and use one gameaccount per game. If a player wants to change or eddit his gameaccount he has to open a support ticket. We can only change or eddit gameaccounts if the player adds a status screenshot to the support ticket which shows us that it’s his account. All old accounts which afflect this change are now invalid.

When a player competes in a competition with an invalid gameaccount he will be punished with three penalty points and according to the competition the match will be revised or a defloss.

A gameaccount is invalid if its total different as the one entered on the players Matcharena profil. Gameaccounts won’t be counted invalid if there is just a switched letter or number.

The admin team will edit gameaccounts immediately after they got a proof screenshot. When the player plays another match with a wrong gameaccount the match will be counted as defloss or will be not counted.

This rule is only in charge if the game related rules dont provide an own rule for this.
4. AntiCheat / AntiFake

Insight is necessary in his newest version in the following games:

  • Counter Strike: Global Offensive
Any user is responsible to has insight working and uploading the data during the whole match. A check if EAC has worked correctly and uploaded all the data is to be done after each match.

No one is allowed to play a match without insight even if the user has technical problems and so on.

When you find any error or things like errors during the check you have to write a support ticket immediately. When you don’t do this you will keep all penalty points or any other penalty in connection with this case and we will decline all protests for this case.

If insight makes problems before the match starts you are only possible to delay the match when you inform the admins. The delay due to insight problems is set to a maximum of 15 minutes. After that period of time the player is not eligable to play anymore. The competition decides whether it resolves to a defwin, match deletion or a shorthanded match.

Playing without EAC will be punished with disqualification and ban for next tournaments.


Any user has to use the newest EAC version. The use of any programm or tool to manipulate or mod insight is forbidden. A violation of this rule will be punished with twelve penalty points and a permanent ban from Matcharena.


Any player that used third party tools or programms to cheat ingame will be punished with twelve penalty points and if he gets detected through a timetable he gets a twelve month ban from Matcharena. If a player gets detected through insight he gets a permanent ban from Matcharena. Teams which had a cheating player will also be punished with six penalty points and get banned from the ongoing competition.


When a player get banned through an insight detection all matches he won after the detection will be revised. If the player get banned through a timetable the match of the timetable will only be revised.

Tournaments with prizes are an expetion of this rule. When the user gets detected during a tournament it can lead to defwins and catch up matches. The league management reserves the right to revise matches.

In allen Fällen behält sich die Ligaleitung vor auch weitere Matches zu revidieren.


Any user is allowed to have one Matcharena account as mentioned in 3.1.1. The creation of more accounts so called multi-/fakeaccounts is forbidden and will be punished with six penalty points and a five day ban.

If a user creates an account to get through a pemanent ban the new account wil also get one in case you had a 12 month ban through a timetable we will add six month to your bantime.


When a player plays knowingly with a multi-/fakeaccount user or just refuses to report him he will get six penalty points and a four week ban. The punishment gets doubled for each violation on this rule.


Any trading, selling or buying of matcharena accounts is forbidden. A violation of this rule will resolve in twelve penalty points and a permanent ban. The league management reserves the right to ban any accounts involved with trading or selling.


Any unauthorized acess on foreign accounts is forbidden. If a user gets unauthorized acess on foreign account he will get punished with twelve penalty points and a permanent ban.

The account owner is responsible to protect his account as mentioned in 3.1.2.


When the players entered a result without playing the match then we have a fake match which are forbidden. All matches have to be played and are not to be abused to get archievements, points or other bonuses. A violation of this rule will be punished with six penalty points and a ten day ban. The league management reserves the right to punish very high violations of this rule with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.

In games with a demo feature timetables can be written with the following deadlines:

  • 3 days after the demo upload in tournaments
  • 5 days after the demo upload in leagues
  • 10 days after the demo upload in ladders
    
A timeplay has to be based on a first person demo of the suspect. Go TV Demos or streams cant be used as base for a timetable.

Timetables has to have 5 significant described scenes. If there are less than 5 scenes or if they aren’t described well enough then we cant consider the timetable.

We will allow the suspect to defend himself with an anti timetable. Timetables will be processed after the deadline for the suspect to create an anti timetable has ended.

5. Match

If not mentioned in the game related rules all matches have to be played in the following constellation:

  • 1on1 - 1 player per side
  • 2on2 - 2 players per side
  • 3on3 - 2 or 3 players per side
  • 4on4 - 3 or 4 players per side
  • 5on5 - 4 or 5 players per side
  • 6on6 - 5 or 6 players per side
  • 7on7 - 6 or 7 players per side
  • 8on8 - 7 or 8 players per side

The competition itself dictates the need of game related entered game accounts.


Every player is responsible for their own hard and software and is accountable to be able to participate in any Matcharena competition they join without problems.

Any problems that occur bofore a match that can change the playability of the match have to be told to the admins in order to allow a possible match delay. A Match delay can go on for a maximum of 15 minutes. If the problems still occur after 15 minutes the player with the problems will get disqualified.

The competition itself will decide if the other player gets a defwin or the match will get revised and maybe it’s allowed to play with less players. The league management reserves the right to punish participants that adverse effect our competitions.


Participants are allowed to arrenge details for a match before it starts. Such agreements are only allowed ith there is no rule against it in the game related rule book. All agreements have to be written in the match comments or in the match chat you also can make screenshots to proof agreements but please keep in mind that we need to have the Matcharena time visible on the screenshot. If you can’t proof the existence of an agreements we can’t accept any protests.

Any participant should keep in mind that the rules of Matcharena clearly says that any participant of a match has to go in a match with the same pros and cons. When a participant thinks that he got cheated by an arrangement he doesn’t have the right to protest it. The agreement on an arrangement can’t be linked to a condition. Also Matcharena and their admins cant be made accountable for any agreements by participants.


Any used IP’s and Steam ID’s in the venue. Every player that competes on Matcharena from their venue (profil links, names)

The owner of the venue has to contructual agree that all informations he sends to Matcharena are correct and he is also in charge of checking that the person who plays an account is his actual owner. The written request has to be send at
In some games the Matcharena will provide the players with gameservers. In any game we provide gameservers they have to be used and the usage of other servers than ours is forbidden.

This rule can be deactivated by the game related rule book. The server selection will be rulled out in the game related rule book.


On servers we provide are always the right settings for the competition pre installed. Any change of settings is unnecessary.

The rules for settings in games in which we don’t provide servers can be read up in the game related rule book.

Teams are allowed to change players during a match if the following conditions are fulfiled:

  • The player that wants to be changed in has to be in the teamaccount before the match started
  • If there is a need for an entered gameaccount or a verification he has also to have these.
  • The pause for the change can be max. 10 minutes.
We also need you to provide data which clearly shows us which players changed.

Both parties involved are liable that the correct result is entered after the match. If there is a disagreement with the entered result both partys have to provide clues in their protests.

When both parties can’t provide proofs for a result the admins will decide if their is a rematch a revise or any other punishment.


Entering a wrong result on purpose is forbidden and will end up in six penalty points and a five day ban in tournaments we also ban the participant for the next tournament.

The league management reserves the right to punish very high violations of this rule with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.


When a player try to fake his identity, he and his team will get punished with six penalty points and a a five day ban in a 1on1 only the player himself gets the punishment. This rule is only in charge when there is no rule ruling this in the game related rule book.

The league management reserves the right to punish very high violations of this rule with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.


When a not eligible player is used in a match the team (if its a team competition) and the player will get punished with six penalty points and a 5 day ban. This rule is only in charge when there is no rule ruling this in the game related rule book.

6. Matchmedia


All match relevant data such as screenshots or demos have to been saved in their original status for 14 days in trounaments, until the end of a season in leagues. When an admin requests matchmedia the participant has 48 hours to provide them. He can use a filehoster to upload the matchmedia.

If the user dont provide the matchmedia within the 48 hours time given, he will get punished with penalty points. The number of penalty points given in this case are described in the game related rule book.

Matchmedia files have to be named so we can see to which match they belong. Upload only in RAR or Zip files!


Any game related data has the saved and keept in their original condition. Every change through third party tools and programs will be punished with six penalty points and a ten day ban.

This rule is only in charge when there is no rule ruling this in the game related rule book. The league management reserves the right to punish very high violations of this rule with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.

Participants can be forced to upload their matchmedia. In this case all matchmedia has to been uploaded within:

  • 24 hours in leagues and ladders
  • 15 minutes in tourmanents
If a participant violates this rule he will get punished with six penalty points and a ten day ban. This rule is only in charge when there is no rule ruling this in the game related rule book.

The league management reserves the right to punish very high violations of this rule with higher penalties, up to the exclusion from the Matcharena.

Um die Richtigkeit des Matches zu gewährleisten sind die Teilnehmer dafür verantwortlich einen Screenshot des Endergebnisses anzufertigen.

Ist ein gültiger Screenshot des Matches hochgeladen oder kann das Ergebnis einwandfrei nachvollzogen werden, besteht kein Anrecht auf einen Protest.

Die generelle Uploadfrist beträgt 15 Minuten nach Matchende. Ein Nachreichen von Screenshots ist nicht zulässig.

Diese Regelung tritt dann in Kraft, sofern Sie gegen keinen aktiven Punkt aus dem spielspezifischen Regelwerk verstößt.

7. Programs / Software

During a match u are allowed to use any voice communication tools lile:

  • Batlecom
  • Gamevoice
  • Teamspeak
  • Ventrilo
  • Mumble
  • Skype
There is also a list in the game related rulebook with all allowed communikation tools and allowed programs there is also a list of must have programs to guarantee a fair competition.

New programs that aren’t listed here are only allowed when Matcharena announced them as allowed.


Basically all custom files that alters the game are forbidden. This also means any change of game grafic and textures. This rule doesnt count when the use of custom files is ruled in the game related rule book.

Violations of this rule will be punished with penalty points or time bans or other sanktions.

Any not allowed modification of the server is forviden. Any violation of this rule will be punished with penalty points, time bans up to a permanent ban.

8. Sanktions


When players compete in an online league there is a need for rules and consequences if rules are broken.

Any violation of a rule will get punished with league internal penalty points, tempoary bans, permanent bans and account deletions. independent from this rule can the miss behaviour of a player end up in court. Penalty points will be deleted after a certain amount of time.

When an user reaches a set limit of penalty points he will get banned for a time regulated by the amount of penalty points he has.

  • 5-7 penalty points = 5 day ban
  • 8-9 penalty points = 10 days ban
  • 10-11 penalty points = 25 days ban
  • 12 penalty points (Timetable) = 12 month ban
  • 12 Strafpunkte (AntiCheat Tool) = unlimited ban
Still opened ladder or league games will be deleted. The banned player can challenge or be challenged by players. Also he cant participate in any competitions with his team, An exeption of this rule are open 2vs2 matches, open 2vs2 matches can still be played.

The ban starts with the reach of the necessary penalty points and ends a day after the ban time. Players will get removed from any team and ladder if they get banned with twelve penalty points.

Penalty points will be deleted after twenty five days an exeption to this rule are 12 penalty points they dont get delated at all.


If a player violates multiple rules within the same case, he gets a collective punishment which contains six penalty points, even if the summed up violations will result in more penalty points.

An exeption to this rule is the allocation of twelve penalty points in which case collective punishments don’t get used.
